What is the difference between 'loose-leaf' and a teabag?
Teabag teas generally contain “tea dusts” that had undergone a harsh process where the tealeaves are crushed in order to fit into a teabag. During this process, the therapeutic essential oils are usually stripped off and since only a small amount could fit into a teabag, the healing benefits and flavours are usually compromised. Loose-leaf teas do not undergo such harsh process and the amount used to prepare a cup of tea is more generous than a typical teabag, therefore they tend to retain the therapeutic properties and offer a flavourful cup of tea.

What is the difference between herbal tea and black tea?
Correctly put, herbal tea should be known as herbal infusion as it does not derive from ‘Camellia Sinensis' and therefore it is caffeine-free. Whilst black tea comes from the ‘Camellia Sinensis’ plant and therefore it contains caffeine.

How much do I use to prepare a cup of tea?
The general rule of thumb is 1 level teaspoon per cup of 250ml of hot water.

How long do I infuse my tea?
The general infusion time is 2-3 minutes for black and green teas. Herbal teas are generally infused much longer to disperse the essential oils that contain the healing properties. A good infusion time is about 5 minutes, however, if you prefer a stronger brew, the infusion time can be extended to 15 minutes or longer. And remember as 'loose-leaf' teas retain more moisture, flavour and beneficial oils, do not throw out your teas after first infusion! They can be infused again but naturally the second infusion will not be as strong as the first.
